Our Mealworm pets

When we first started out, they came in 2 boxes...

so cute ... then we gave them oats...

they ate hungrily ...
and then some apples ...

    1. Mealworms are the larvae of darkling beetles. These primitive insects do not have teeth at any point during the life cycle. During the larval stage, mealworms have relatively small mouths; they can feed only on finely ground material.

  3. I think its dead. The colour is different from the rest.Is the mealworm harmful to us?How big can it grow?

  7. I just saw a meal worm grow into a pupa and then turn into beetle at youtube i think on monday some of them will turn into pupa but when they turn into pupa how do they eat the oats and apple??

  8. I think it is not dead maybe it is turning into a pupa. At pupa stage they dont need food. So they dont need apples or oats.

  10. If they have enough food, they can stay 3 months for Larva according to their process. After moults 15 times, they will reach Pupa level from Larva (this stage).
